Nathan O. Lavere was my dear friend and someone who had lost the love of his life (my granddaughter) to substance abuse as well as suffering from this condition.
Nathan could fix a car and build a house. He loved dogs and knew how to work with them. He would help you with any problem if he could such as doing the dishes, fixing a lamp, listening to your heartbreaks and sharing his love of music and movies with you.
We had fun when he drove us to the beach and hung out with us. We miss him so much.
Putting Nathan in jail and punishing him never helped him and only made matters far worse. A few days after being released from jail in January, 2018 his body was found in a parking lot in Seattle.
This condition should be a public health issue and never a crime. Please save our loved ones.
